Kindergarten Students

Every registration must be accompanied with a  governemnt issued proof of age (child must be five by December 31 of the registration year).  A birth certificate or passport is preferred. Registrations documentation must be brought to the SBO office after the March 31st deadline. The School Board office is located at 4351 Ontario Ave. (The Ministry of Education stipulates that parents may defer the enrollment of their child for not more than one year.)  

Students registering after March 31 cannot be guaranteed a placement in their school of choice or local area. 

French Immersion Kindergarten/Gr 1

Parents may apply for a space in the French Immersion Program in Kindergarten or Grade 1 for the upcoming school year by submitting an application either online or hand delivered to James Thomson Elementary by April 1 of the previous year.  Once you have received notification of acceptance from the school you may then submit the online registration form below.

Grade 1 to 7 Students new to Powell River or students wishing to transfer to a school outside of their catchment area

Please register using the form below indicating your school of choice by March 31.  Students registering after March 31 cannot be guaranteed a placement in their school of choice or local area.  Registration documentation may be brought to the Preferred school prior to March 31, following that deadline all documentation must be brough to the School Board office at 4351 Ontario Ave. You can find school address information on our District Facility page.

Grade 8-10 Students new to the Powell River School Distrct

Please register using the form below indicating Brooks secondary as your preferred school.  All registration documention must be brought to Brooks secondary school to be verified by office staff.
